POSITION SUMMARY:

Detailed job knowledge of all Guest Service Operations including individual family and group process. Ensure the satisfaction of all potential and actual guests' over the phone and in person. Account for front desk operations, income audit procedures, and night audit transactions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or a GED equivalence is required.
  • Demonstrate the ability to fluently read, write and speak English.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule as the hours will vary and include weekends, nights and holidays. Must also have the ability to rotate shifts and fill in for staff when needed.
  • Professionally deal with emergency situations and upset or dissatisfied guests.
  • Complete an audit that includes, but is not limited to, counting department's cash boxes, handling large amounts of income, and making nightly deposits. Confirm the accuracy of the income that has been deposited and run end of day reports, etc. Also process petty cash and payroll transactions nightly for the Center.
  • Work effectively in a busy office environment with frequent interruptions, distractions and deadlines.
  • Train Guest Service Staff when needed; understand all shift duties.
  • Promote excellent customer service skills; for example, friendly, personable, helpful, patient, and professional.
  • Support the Association safety program. Encourage safe work practices and a safe environment for all guests, members and staff.
  • Uphold the YMCA of the Rockies Mission, policies and programs.
  • Uphold and reflect the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Faith in all functions.
  • Must meet acceptable criminal background check standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist and contribute to employee training programs such as the International Training Program, Navigators, TREK, and Explore Programs. Work with the volunteer staff in the Guest Service department.
  • Daily communication with the Guest Registration Manager and the PM Front Desk Supervisor.
  • Make every reasonable effort in accommodating the needs and expectations of our guests. Make sure the appropriate action is taken to correct deficiencies.
  • Maintain a positive and problem-solving atmosphere at all times.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others in a diverse environment.
  • All other duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION:

This is a seasonal, hourly (based on 40 hours/week) position. The pay is $5.50 an hour when working the Front Desk and $6.50 when working Night Audit. In addition to the hourly wage, this position offers additional employee benefits including:

DRUG/ALCOHOL POLICY:

We have a zero tolerance policy for alcohol or drugs on property; in addition, no drug use is tolerated (including marijuana) during your employment with us whether on- or off-duty.

REFERENCES:

You must submit three references with your application, including their name, phone number and email address.

Two references must be someone who know you professionally (former or current manager, supervisor, teacher, professor, coach, pastor, etc.) and one reference must be a family member.

If you are a rehire and have worked at YMCA of the Rockies Estes Park Center, Snow Mountain Ranch, or Camp Chief Ouray at any time during the past three years, references are not required.

ABOUT THE YMCA OF THE ROCKIES:

The YMCA of the Rockies operates two year-round family resorts and conference centers on each side of Rocky Mountain National Park: Estes Park Center located in Estes Park, CO; Snow Mountain Ranch located in Winter Park, CO; and Camp Chief Ouray, a summer resident camp for kids located on the Snow Mountain Ranch property.

Snow Mountain Ranch (SMR) is located on the western side of the Rocky Mountain National Park, in a more remote area of Colorado known as the Fraser Valley, near Granby and Winter Park. In the winter, SMR is home to one of the largest Nordic ski areas in the country, with over 100 km of trails on the 5000-acre property. Winters at SMR can last up to eight months, but for winter enthusiasts, there is no place like it, with days and days of powder. In the summertime, SMR is surrounded by back-country forests and trails, with opportunities to get your boots or wheels in the dirt for many hours of fun.
