Fall After School Manager
REPORTS TO YOUTH PROGRAM DIRECTOR
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is in charge of the after school program for the local school district with children aged between 5 and 13. This includes direct supervision of the children throughout the Fall semester and working along-side an aide position that splits their time between the preschool and after school programs. Job responsibilities include planning and facilitating daily after school activities Monday through Friday afternoons as well as all day programming when planned days off at the school occur. The ideal candidate will be comfortable communicating effectively and professionally with parents, working directly with their supervisor, and working with children. They should be role-models for the children exemplifying the 5 Core Values of YMCA of the Rockies; Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Faith.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
* Must be at least 21 years old
* Must have at least one year experience working with children
* Previous supervisory experience preferred
* Must be working towards or hold a degree in recreation, education, or related field
* Possess excellent customer service skills
* Ability to plan, lead, organize, and implement program activities
* Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
* Ability to work with little direct supervision
* Fluent in speaking, writing, and reading English
* Must have the physical ability to lead and participate in activities which include, but are not limited to, hiking, swimming, team building activities, campfires, skits, and physical games.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/REQUIREMENTS
* Responsible for overseeing and managing the after school program
* Assist in planning, implementation, and evaluation of after school programming
* Manage a budget
* Assist in maintaining YMCA and Social Services Child Care Center standards
* Identify and respond to child behavior issues
* Assist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance
* Understand and follow all emergency procedures associated with after school
* Understand and follow all safety guidelines for after school
* Clear communication with parents about child’s experiences at after school
* Ensure that after school sites are kept clean, organized, and free of litter
* Promote a cooperative, positive, and problem-solving environment at all times
* Ability to work cooperatively with others in a diverse environment
* Currently possess, or are willing to get, CPR/First Aid certification
* May be required to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. in various forms
* Ability to work up to 40 hours weekly
* Must have clean driving record with three or more years driving experience
* Must meet acceptable criminal background check standards
* All other duties as assigned

UNIFORM
* Staff shirts will be provided and will be worn whenever staff are working
* Shorts or pants must not have holes
* Footwear can be sandals but need to have an ankle strap; ie Chacos or Tevas.
* When going horseback riding or hiking, closed-toed shoes are required
* Swim trunks or one piece swim suits are required for swimming
 
COMPENSATION
This is a seasonal, hourly (based on 40 hours/week) position, paying $250/week, with employee perks including:

DRUG/ALCOHOL POLICY 
We have a zero tolerance policy for alcohol or drugs on property; in addition, no drug use is tolerated (including marijuana) during your employment with us whether on- or off-duty.
 
REFERENCES

You must submit three references with your application, including their name, phone number and email address.Two references must be someone who knows you professionally (former or current manager, supervisor, teacher, professor, coach, pastor, etc.) and one reference must be a family member.

If you area  rehire and have worked for YMCA of the Rockies Estes Park Center, Snow Mountain Ranch, or Camp Chief Ouray at any time during the last three years, references are not required.
