The YMCA of the Rockies Estes Park Center is the largest YMCA conference center in the world.

At nearly 900 acres in size and serving over 200,000 guests each year, a dedicated team of

individuals work to provide guests with a world-renowned experience.

Position Summary:

The Family Program Special Events Intern is responsible for assisting the Family Program Director in planning and executing of special events throughout the summer. Duties include working with various entities on property to organize and conduct the YMCA of the Rockies 4th of July Parade, arrange and produce the Summer Staff Talent Show, and assist with Summerfest Concert Series. Must be passionate about providing high quality guest service and creating and enacting fun special events.

Family Programs Special Events Intern Essential Functions / Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be fluent in speaking English
  • Must possess current First Aid and CPR certifications
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Must possess a high level of organization and be task/detail oriented
  • Basic computer office skills like using  Publisher, Adobe Acrobat, and Word
  • Desire to plan, market and execute engaging events for guests and staff including but not limited to a Staff Talent Show and 4th of July Parade
  • Facilitate Orientations, Ice Breakers, Night Walks, Community Fires, Family Fun Nights and Archery
  • Must be comfortable speaking in front of large groups of guests
  • Introduce Summerfest Acts
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Communicate with all guests in a mature, responsible fashion
  • Participate in daily cleaning of program buildings as assigned
  • Must possess a valid, USA state issued driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and comply with YMCA driving rules to be approved to operate YMCA vehicles

 

Other Functions / Requirements:

  • Assist in the success of all programs as needed
  • All other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as required
