This position supports the work of the YMCA of the Rockies, Snow Mountain Ranch, which operate a mission-based family and group conference center and retreat, serving more than 50,000 annually. The Grill and Catering Manager is primarily responsible for the daily operations of the Buckboard Grill, including preparing the Grill menu, sack lunches, refreshment orders, stocking and ordering, and training and scheduling seasonal employees. In the summer, responsibilities include planning and running the cookouts along with providing support to catering operations. Snow Mountain Ranch is located in the heart of the Rockies in northern Colorado, within minutes of 2 ski resorts, 3 lakes, Rocky Mountain National Park and so much more. The Ranch sits on 5,000 beautiful acres in Granby, Colorado which is adjacent to Winter Park and Grand Lake.

  • Have excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Direct all aspects of food production for the Grill, including ordering, food preparation and inventory.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of kitchen operations, catering, or banqueting experience, preferably in management.
  • Possess basic computer skills and development knowledge of software utilized by the YMCA of the Rockies.
  • Lead a diverse crew of seasonal staff to provide positive outcomes for guests and staff.
  • Operate kitchen equipment including: fryer, broiler, oven, ice cream machine, etc.
  • Direct preparation of sack lunches, refreshment orders, and continental breakfasts.
  • Manage the preparation and delivery of cookouts during the summer season.
  • Develop Grill menu in cooperation with the Food Services Director.
  • Uphold and reflect the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Faith in all functions

  • Possess and demonstrate excellent customer service skills; friendly, personable, helpful, patient, and professional.
  • Support the YMCA of the Rockies safety program. Promote safe work practices and a safe environment for guests, members, and staff.
  • Promote a cooperative, positive, and flexible atmosphere while working with others in a diverse community.
  • Must meet acceptable criminal background check standards.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • All other duties as assigned.
