This position supports the work of the YMCA of the Rockies, which operates a mission-based family and group conference and retreat center and residential camp for SMR/CCO positions), serving more than 225,000 guests annually. The Internship Coordinator is primarily responsible for developing, managing, and supporting a seasonal internship program across the Association. The Internship Coordinator offers practical, administrative, and procedural support for managers and interns.

What We Offer


  • Work with managers to develop, manage and support a cohesive internship program across the Association.
  • Collaboratively develop and oversee implementation of intern training plans for all departments, ensuring that interns have appropriate opportunities for professional development.
  • As appropriate, hire interns for available internships and effectively communicate intern goals with supervisors.
  • Assure interns are receiving the best experience possible.
  • Serve as the liaison for colleges and universities as appropriate.
  • Ensure that managers understand their role as internship supervisors and provide education and support as necessary.
  • As applicable, understand interns school requirements and ensure those are being met.
  • Monitor the hiring system and process to confirm that interns are being communicated within a timely manner.
  • Possess a valid, USA state-issued drivers license, an acceptable driving record, and comply with YMCA driving rules to be approved to operate YMCA vehicles.
  • Possess the stamina to work in the work environment described herein.



  • Have exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, the ability to prioritize, and accurately meet deadlines while adhering to policy and procedure
  • Be comfortable working both independently and as a part of a team; ability to work with a cross-functional team within a department
  • Ability to communicate and interact with local businesses to understand their needs and industry information
  • Have specific knowledge, skills, or abilities with serving young adults aged 16-24
  • Organized, motivated, and able to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and able to quickly learn to use new software. Experience with an HR system (HRIS) is preferred.
  • Must be able to travel between centers as needed.
