Internship Opportunities

Activities & Recreation

Internships in Activities and Recreation can take many forms and can be developed to meet the internship requirements of the participant. Below are the various areas around which internships can be designed.

The Activity Facilitator Team lead the charge on FUN! They guide guests in a variety of activities and sports; they teach archery, outdoor nature activities, and science experiments; they staff the mini-golf clubhouses, the roller rinks, and the Program desks. The teams share information about our Programs, our Association, Rocky Mountain National Park, and surrounding areas.

The Program Desk Attendant Team provides quality customer service to our guests by effectively communicating activities around property, registering guests for activities and helping run activities when necessary.

Museum Teams keep the history of YMCA of the Rockies alive through tours of our museum and historic spots. Knowledgeable in the foundation of YMCA of the Rockies, they are a resource to guests and staff wanting to connect to our past.

Front Desk/Guest Registration

Guest Registration Internships provide those interested in hospitality management a valuable experience as they gain skills in a fast-paced hotel environment. They often provide the first face-to-face impression of YMCA of the Rockies to our guests and ensure they are given accurate and in-depth information about their accommodations and activities.

Summer Internship Opportunities

Chapel Ministry Internship (Snow Mountain Ranch): The Chapel Ministry team leads the YMCA in providing the spiritual atmosphere that enhances our guests and staffs experience. They provide worship services, hymn sings, prayer walks, Bible Studies and other Christian Education programs, as well as just being a listening ear to anyone in need.

Housekeeping Logistics Internship (Snow Mountain Ranch): The Housekeeping Logistics Intern is primarily responsible for timeliness in preparing and updating status of lodge rooms and cabins for guest occupancy. The Housekeeping Logistics Intern must effectively monitor daily productivity and timeliness of room status updates and communicate issues promptly to the Housekeeping Manager and/or Housekeeping Director.

Wedding & Special Events Internship (Snow Mountain Ranch): The Weddings & Special Events Intern works closely with the Weddings Coordinator and the Guest Services team to coordinate all weddings and special events during the Snow Mountain Ranch summer wedding season (May-October). The Intern will communicate available services to prospective clients, lean on-site tours, coordinate booking and delivery of services, and administer day-of-services to wedding and special events clients.

Day Camp Business Administration Internship (Estes Park Center - summer) Under the direction of the Youth Programs Director, the Day Camp Business Administration Intern is responsible for the registration of every child that comes through day camp throughout the summer and will support with billing and finances of the Day Camp program. Ideal candidates will have strong communication and computer skills.
