Job Description

Position Summary:  Key leader within 20 to 75-person Department.  Along with Director, Assistant Director, and nine other supervisors - contribute to the success of the team by completing and / or overseeing numerous tasks associated with leadership, training, commercial laundry, lodging and cabin cleaning, event set-up (weddings, group events, concerts, etc...), stocking supplies, and inspections. Resort has three lodges, over 60 cabins, several conference venues, a gymnasium, and numerous activity buildings.            

 

Essential Functions / Requirements:

  1. Must be highly motivated, energetic, and effective to lead others and to develop subordinates. 
  2. Must be extremely organized with an impeccable attention to detail, accuracy and able to meet deadlines.
  3. Excellent interpersonal, leadership and training skills.
  4. Ability to be flexible and work variable shifts that include weekends, holidays, and nights. This may also include 4-10 hour days per week scheduling.
  5. Ability to work independently and be self-directed and motivated.
  6. A quick learner able to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
  7. Ability to access and move through all YMCA facilities. This will include walking up and down stairs and getting into and out of vehicles freely.
  8. Ability to lift and move up to 40 lb. repeatedly within a day.
  9. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English clearly, concisely, and fluently.
  10. Possess a valid, USA driver’s license, good driving record and be able to operate YMCA vehicles.
  11. Ability to work cooperatively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  12. Ability to exemplify qualities of patients, kindness, integrity, accountability, teamwork and professionalism.
  13. Possess high energy for full schedule. Ability to work at nearly 9000-foot elevation with basic physical fitness and ability to work in varying/extreme weather conditions.
  14. Possess excellent customer service skills; for example, friendly, personable, helpful, patient, and professional.
  15. Support and uphold the YMCA of the Rockies Mission Statement, policies and programs and reflect YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and faith.
  16. Must meet acceptable criminal background check standards.

 

Other Functions / Requirements:

  1. Complete and / or oversee commercial laundry responsibilities after completing qualification process (no previous experience necessary). Will be exposed to common laundry chemicals. 
  2. Complete and / or oversee Inspector duties of facilities after completing qualification process (no previous experience necessary).  Supervisors and staff spend a large portion of the day walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 40 pounds (laundry bags / supplies / chairs / tables), and completing manual labor. 
  3. Basic computer skills required to properly utilize hotel software.  No prior experience necessary.   
  4. Assist / oversee with event set-up.  Hundreds of events, from large weddings to small conferences, occur annually at our facility.  LE-Ops staff set-up stages, audio / visual components, tables, chairs, and food for these events. 
  5. Basic mechanical skills valued, but not mandatory. Supervisors operate and teach staff how to use industrial carpet cleaners. No experience necessary
  6. Leadership by personal example is a must.     
  7. Promote a cooperative, positive and problem-solving atmosphere at all times.
  8. Support the Association safety program.  Promote safe work practices and a safe environment for guests, members, and staff.
  9. Ability to work cooperatively with others in a diverse environment.
  10. All other duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION:

This is a full-time, year-round, hourly non-exempt position with full benefits, including:

DRUG/ALCOHOL POLICY:

We have a strict policy against alcohol or drugs on property; in addition, no drug use is tolerated (including marijuana) during your employment with us whether on- or off-duty.

 

REFERENCES:

If you are a rehire and have served at YMCA of the Rockies Estes Park Center, Snow Mountain Ranch, or Camp Chief Ouray at any time during the past three years, references are not required.

 

ABOUT THE YMCA of the Rockies:

The YMCA of the Rockies operates two year-round family resorts and conference centers on each side of Rocky Mountain National Park: Estes Park Center located in Estes Park, CO; Snow Mountain Ranch located in Winter Park, CO; and Camp Chief Ouray, a summer resident camp for kids located on the Snow Mountain Ranch property.

Snow Mountain Ranch (SMR) is located on the western side of the Rocky Mountain National Park, in a more remote area of Colorado known as the Fraser Valley, near Granby and Winter Park.
