VOLUNTEER UPDATES AT ESTES PARK CENTER (EPC)
 

Returning volunteers will be placed for the upcoming summer & fall season in January and February 2025.


New volunteer applications will be reviewed and contacted about remaining volunteer openings at Estes Park Center after returning volunteers are placed; this should be no later than end of February 2025.
 

VOLUNTEER UPDATES AT SNOW MOUNTAIN RANCH (SMR)

YMCA of the Rockies, Snow Mountain Ranch is accepting new volunteer applications for spring, summer, and fall 2025. Please review the available volunteer opportunities below and apply with your available dates and preferred volunteer positions.
 



VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AT SNOW MOUNTAIN RANCH (SMR)
 

Building and Maintenance - SMR: Responds to issues in guest and staff lodges and cabins and completes basic plumbing, heating, electrical and carpentry repairs. Performs preventative maintenance and completes and submits Work Requests. May also help with trash removal, recycling, litter pick-up, yard work and snow removal. Working outside is required in varied weather conditions. Work hours are scheduled between 7.30 am and 10.00 pm.

 

Campground Attendant - SMR (summer only):  Provide a high level of guest satisfaction and the safety of all campground guests who use RVs, campers or tents. Ensure and encourage a neat and tidy appearance of campsites and the cleanliness of showers, restrooms, gathering spaces, fire pits and similar facilities. Confirms guest arrivals and departures and answers queries or directs guests to information sources. Requires ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. weight and work with various types of chemicals. Bringing your own RV, camper or tent to SMR is preferred but not essential. Must be available to work weekends.

 

Chaplains Assistant - SMR: Provides administrative, telephone and office support to the Chaplain's Department and assists and supports the Chaplain with worship services. Visits with guests and staff and encourages participation in worship, other programs and activities sponsored by the Chaplain's Department. Maintains an attractive and clean appearance in all chapel areas

 

Food Service - SMR: Responsible for providing guests with a positive dining experience. Employees rotate daily through a variety of duties such as clean tables, dining rooms, bathrooms; wash dishes; check meal tickets; stock supplies; and operate cash register.

 

General Store Clerk/Gift Shop - SMR: Ensures Gift Shop presents an appealing aspect to potential customers and is tidy and clean including glass display cases and windows. Sells merchandise, operates electronic cash register and maintains attractive displays. Position requires a high level of customer service skills because of the amount of customer interface. Regularly has to lift up to 25 lbs. weight to table height.

 

Housekeeping - SMR: Assists the Housekeeping Department where needed. This includes laundry, stripping linen from lodges & cabins, cleaning, stocking, preparing cleaning supplies for housekeepers, cleaning and servicing the public Laundromat, keeping equipment cleaned and maintained in good working condition. Some weekend work is required.

 

Human Resource Office Assistant - SMR: Provides information, assistance and knowledge to ensure all Human Resources support services are delivered in a timely, efficient, professional, confidential and ethical manner.

 

Philanthropy - SMR: Assists the philanthropy team with assigned tasks. Is an Ambassador to our guests, members and donors, helping them to feel special. Is a communication liaison to guests regarding the multiple philanthropy and mission opportunities at Estes Park Center and Snow Mountain Ranch.

 

Program Desk Attendant/Floater - SMR: Provides customer service to guests and members at the Program Desk which includes advising of available activities and programs, registration for pre-scheduled and published activities, sharing information about our Program Department, our Association, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Estes Park/Winter Park (depending on your work location), and accepting payment when appropriate. Manages a cash drawer and the online sign up system. May also lead family programs, recreation programs, youth programs, and museum tours. May include helping at the Library, Mini-Golf, Roller Rink, Sweet Memorial, Mountain Center, Craft Shop, Kiva/Gym, Tubing Hill & Ice Rink, Canoe Reservoir, or Swimming Pool. Lots of fun!

 

Staff Experience Team Member Driver - SMR: Responsible for the safe transport of staff on staff trips, such as museums, sporting events, shopping, local attractions, etc., as well other transportation needs of staff including but not limited to trips to medical appointments and arrival/departure stations. Other driving errands may be assigned from time to time.

 

Volunteer History Guide - SMR: Responsible for assisting the Association Historian in the day-to-day operation of the historical sites and for providing high quality visitor experiences and history programs for guests. This includes leading guided history walks above 8,000 ft. elevation. In the absence of the Historian, they must assume responsibility of executing the essential functions of this position without supervision.

 

Guest Services Liaison - SMR: Works with the Guest Services Department to provide excellent services to groups and guests visiting Snow Mountain Ranch.

 

Nordic Center - SMR (winter only): Our award winning center offers over 100kms of groomed ski trails and provides guest a world class Nordic experience in the heart of the majestic Rocky Mountains. Duties include opening and closing the Center, fitting and recording ski rentals and sales of equipment, issuing trail passes, ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the Center and its immediate surroundings, assisting on race days, answering phones and resolving questions about the trail system.

 

Switchboard Operator - SMR: Manages and operates a computerized PBX, a radio base system and the computer system pertaining to the property. Requires the ability to quickly be able to manage and operate communications pertaining to the property. Service takes place in a busy, fast paced, office environment in which the volunteer must demonstrate positive communication skills and team work.
