POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the YMCA of the Rockies, Estes Park Center, which operates a mission-based family and group conference and retreat center, serving more than 150,000 guests annually. The Janitorial Supervisor is primarily responsible for successfully leading a janitorial crew in the cleaning of all guest facing public spaces, with an emphasis on quality, accountability, efficiency and timeliness in preparing areas to Estes Park Center Conference Set-Up and Services standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Possess a valid, USA state-issued driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and comply with YMCA driving rules to be approved to operate YMCA vehicles.
  • Possess stamina to work in the work environment described herein
  • Bi-Lingual skills preferred
  • Supervise and train up to 24 seasonal janitorial crew members and ensures quality and standards of cleaning are met
  • Ensures all chemicals and vehicles are properly operated and maintained
  • Ensures safe practices and procedures are followed for chemicals and biohazards
  • AM and PM shifts required
  • Responds to carpet cleaning, biohazard clean-up, public fixture repair and replacement, and water extraction needs that arise
  • Assist in the delivery of cabin guest request items throughout the day
  • Work alongside the Conference Set-Up and Services Supervisor to maintain cleaning meeting spaces and restrooms associated with those meeting spaces
  • Deliver, set up, and take down tables, chairs and stages for concerts, conferences, family programing and staff events as needed
  • Reports to Conference Set-Ups and Services Manager on progress of projects and needs

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One year of experience in the hospitality industry
  • Assists with Conference Set-Up and Services Supervisors assignments as needed

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must possess physical stamina to walk and stand for extended periods of time throughout the work day
  • The employee needs to be able to lift, carry, and set up tables, various objects including but not limited to, tables, chairs, and stage pieces
  • Be able to bend, stoop, kneel, vacuum, walk and scrub using a variety of cleaning chemicals.
  • The employee needs sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to supervise activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations
  • The employee must be able to regularly lift up to 60 pounds and move up to 150 pounds
  • Must be able to work effectively in a noisy and fast paced environment
