POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Nordic Director, the Bike Technician will be responsible for day to day management of Bike and Fish Shop, maintaining all rental bikes and helmets in safe working order, maintain proper maintenance logs, cleaning bikes and helmets, renting bikes to guests, training staff on the bike rental procedure and leading other Activities as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintenance on our rental bike fleet
  • Maintaining and organizing logs, waivers and assessments
  • Assist in guided bike ride program development and advancement
  • Opening and closing bike rental desk
  • Giving guests advice on what activities to do
  • Leading Adventure Activities programs, including guided hikes, climbing wall sessions and guided bike rides
  • Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings
  • Know and adhere to policies and procedures set forth by YMCA of the Rockies
  • Use a computer to assist guests in enrolling for Adventure Activities and enter data prior to and after activities
  • Handle cash/credit cards and use a cash register to record deposits for borrowed hiking equipment and merchandise sales
  • All other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have up-to-date certifications in First Aid and CPR (Can be obtained during training)
  • Must have knowledge of RMNP and surrounding areas
  • Must have a high degree of skill working with people of all ages
  • Must be experienced mountain biker
  • Must have working knowledge of mountain bike repair skills
  • Must meet acceptable criminal background check standards
  • Must be able to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays
