Association Risk and Compliance Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of YMCA of the Rockies, which operates mission-based family and group conference and retreat centers, and a residential camp, serving more than 225,000 guests in two locations in Colorado, the Estes Park Center and Snow Mountain Ranch. The Association Risk and Compliance Manager is primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of the risk management and compliance initiatives at YMCA of the Rockies. This role involves overseeing the development, implementation, and monitoring of risk management and compliance functions, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of proactive risk management. The Association Risk and Compliance Manager will collaborate with departments and leadership teams across the organization to support the Associations mission and goals. Additionally, this position includes responsibilities for workplace safety, transportation compliance, emergency planning, youth protection, contract review, and insurance claims management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborate with Center and department leadership to meet the Associations risk management and compliance needs.
- Under the direction of the Director of Finance and Risk, lead day-to-day administration of the Associations Enterprise Risk Management and compliance processes.
- Oversee the implementation of standardized risk management and compliance functions.
- Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure proper documentation and reporting on risk management and compliance functions.
- In collaboration with the Director of Finance and Risk, manage relationships with risk advisors, regulatory bodies, and compliance partners.
- Facilitate the delivery of risk management and safety training.
- Lead workplace safety initiatives in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
- Oversee internal transportation policy, including Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance.
- Manage accident reporting and investigation procedures.
- Develop and maintain emergency plans in collaboration with operations leadership, emergency responders, and third-party risk partners
- Play an active role in leading Youth Protection efforts and ensure Praesidium Accreditation standards are met or exceeded.
- Manage the internal process for insurance claims, including tracking claims status and ensuring timely resolution.
- Collect data and provide regular reporting related to Risk Management and Compliance.
- Collaborate with Operations leadership in development and implementation or property security plans.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources department for workers compensation claims and employee injury management.
- Contract Management: Conduct internal reviews of third-party contracts prior to execution and manage the associations contract repository.
- Provide cross-functional support and leadership to Center leadership teams.
- Routinely travel between Estes Park Center and Snow Mountain Ranch.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of two years in the risk management or compliance field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Thorough understanding of risk management and compliance principles, processes, and best practices required with experience supporting multi-site locations desired.
- Impeccable attention to detail with an ability to coach and help others learn effectively.
- Must have very good organizational, communication, and computer skills.
- Possess a valid, USA state-issued drivers license, an acceptable driving record, and comply with YMCA driving rules to be approved to operate YMCA vehicles.
- OSHA 30 certificationrequired, or the ability to obtain within the first six months of employment.
- Praesidium Guardian Certificationrequired within the first year or first available offering.
- Knowledge and understanding of risks related to outdoor recreation, youth camps, and childcare.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Risk Management or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Professional Risk Management or Safety certification desired.
