Bike/Fish Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Bike and Fish Shop Director, the Volunteer Bike Technician will be responsible for maintaining all rental bikes and helmets in safe working order, cleaning bikes and helmets, renting bikes to guests, training staff on the bike rental procedure and renting and selling fishing tackle to guests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintenance on our rental bike fleet
• Maintaining and organizing logs, waivers and assessments
• Giving guests advice on what activities to do
• Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings
• Know and adhere to policies and procedures set forth by YMCA of the Rockies
• Help guests with rental Fishing tackle and synthetic bait purchase. Direct them to the reservoir and/or other fishing locations.
• Handle cash/credit cards and use a cash register to record deposits for borrowed hiking equipment and merchandise sales
• All other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have up-to-date certifications in First Aid and CPR (Can be obtained during training)
• Must have a high degree of skill working with people of all ages
• Must be experienced mountain biker
• Must have working knowledge of mountain bike repair skills
• Must meet acceptable criminal background check standards
• Must be able to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays
