POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Human Resources Director provides operational and administrative support to the Human Resources Director to ensure all HR services are delivered timely, efficiently, and ethically, with a staff-centric focus on quality, care, and responsive service to employees.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Leads with compassion and enthusiasm for staff well-being fostering a positive and engaging experience with every interaction.
- Assist Human Resources Director in all daily operations.
- Oversee all aspects of Human Resources-related matters in the HR Directors absence.
- Assist with investigations.
- Assist hiring managers with terminations, questions, and other HR related matters
- Assist with training and supervising HR staff, volunteers, ITPs, and interns.
- Track I-9 and virtual training compliance.
- Supervise international HR trainees.
- Partners with the Human Resources Director to advance department goals that enhance the staff experience and strengthen organizational culture.
- Monitor current HR related rules and regulations.
- Maintain labor law employment posters.
- Review and amend HR ITP Placement Plans.
- Code department invoices.
- Assist HR Director with budget reviews and inputs.
- Possess an unwavering ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive information.
- Ability to work a flexible and at times unexpected schedule.
- Use a computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone.
- Able to work in a busy high-stress office environment with frequent interruptions.
- Organize and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Extremely detail-oriented and accurate.
- Learn quickly and be able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Oversee all aspects of employee drug testing.
- Possess a valid, USA state-issued drivers license, an acceptable driving record, and comply with YMCA driving rules to be approved to operate YMCA vehicles.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Supervisory experience.
- Strong computer skills.
- High level of emotional intelligence.
- Comfortable with difficult conversations.
- Ability to operate well under pressure and stressful situations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- All other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Operate professionally under high-stress situations.
- Able to move about the workspace and change positions while spending extended periods working outside and on a computer.
- Lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
