POSITION SUMMARY:
No prior housekeeping experience is required comprehensive training is provided for all duties listed below.

Be physically capable of performing the job, which includes climbing stairs, walking on ice- and snow-covered surfaces, moving along lodge hallways, and meeting daily cleaning timelines. The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds short distances is required.
Possess a valid drivers license and successfully pass a DMV background check, as driving YMCA vehicles and transporting teams to lodging areas is part of the role.
At Snow Mountain Ranch, everyone in the Housekeeping Department from the Department Head to new staff participates in daily cleaning of lodging units.
Leadership team members also gain valuable experience in commercial laundry operations, hotel management systems, customer service, and resort logistics and supply coordination.

The Housekeeping Team Leader supports the work of the YMCA of the Rockies, Snow Mountain Ranch, which operates a mission-based family and group conference and retreat center, as well as a residential camp serving more than 50,000 guests annually. This position plays a key leadership role within a department of 2075 staff, supervising teams responsible for cleaning assigned cabins and lodge rooms.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Supervise flow of work on crews to complete changeovers andmaidservices in an acceptable andtimelymanner.

Supervise,trainand assign duties to Housekeeping staff, and work alongside them to complete the daily cleaning assignments.

Clean cabins, lodge rooms,lobbiesand public areas.
-
Efficiently clean guest accommodations including the following tasks: clean fireplaces, vacuum and dust, strip linens and make beds, wash windows, clean toilets, sinks and showers, empty trash, mop and sweep floors, and clean ovens.

Clean all carpets and upholsteryin accordance withdepartmental standards

Strip and stock cabins and lodgesin accordance withdepartmental standards

Complete cleaning and maintenance on vacuums and carpet cleaning equipment

Assure the storeroom is cleaned/stocked with chemicals and the vans are cleaned out at the end of each day

Assistwith operation of heavy-duty laundry equipment and follow all operational and safety procedures. Equipment includes computerized washers and dryers. Complete daily and weekly maintenance on all laundry machines.

Able to handle chemicals used inHousekeepingDept. when needed.

Assistwith organizing and prioritizing laundry workload toassurea continual supply of clean linens.

Enter and edit employee information in the time management software, including hours and counseling documents.

On assigned days, work as the Housekeeping Shift Supervisor and serve as the liaison between all departments.

Complete supply orders with our vendors following department regulations.

Assistcommercial laundry attendants with the folding of linens.

Assistin the supervision ofhousekeepingstaff while in the Commercial Laundry.

Assistguests with linen exchange.

Possess supervisory skills.

Workwithvarious typesof cleaning chemicals.

Assistwithsupplyinventories and ordering.

All other duties as assigned
Additional Shift Supervisor Duties:

Serve as the acting Daily Operations Manager when the Manager is off-site (days off, vacation, or sick leave).

Oversee daily operations across multiple work areas, including cabins, lodges, and public areas.

Support and guide Team Leaders, helping them manage productivity, quality, and staff morale during shifts.

Adjust daily cleaning assignments and staffing as needed in response to callouts, workload changes, or priority shifts.

Perform quality control inspections and provide in-the-moment feedback or retraining to maintain standards.

Respond to guest service concerns or operational issues professionally and escalate as needed.

Assistwith shift-level decision-making, problem-solving, and team communication in the absence of senior leadership.

Ability to access and move through all YMCA facilities. This will include walking up and down stairs and getting into and out of vehicles freely.

Ability to lift and move up to 40 lb. repeatedly within a day.

Possess high energy forfullschedule. Ability to work atnearly 9000-footelevation with basic physical fitness and ability to work in varying/extreme weather conditions.
